Weston & North Somerset MAG Times

December 2005

Yuletide Felicitations

Well it’s that time of the year once again, when everyone gets into the festive spirit (rum, vodka, brandy, etc) and we all tuck into huge turkey’s that seem to go on for evermore. Anyway, what ever way you choose to celebrate, The Demented Troll wishes you all a merry one, and a happy new year.
And please do remember not to throw your empty bottles and cans over the bridge, after all there may well be a tired old Troll slumbering beneath.

Group Review

Well what a year this has been for us! We re-started the Annual Pet Food Run, the Bikefest was a success, we resurrected the GWR rally, we manned the Securer Bike Park at the Enduro and finally we had a successful event to raise money for Freewheelers. And on top of that the attendance at The Bell has increased somewhat over previous years, all in all it has been a very good year for Weston & North Somerset MAG. Very Well Done Everyone! Especially those who either Organised or helped out at any of the events. Now let’s keep it up for next year.

Group Membership

As you will have seen from The WRAG we have 63 MAG members within North Somerset. But where are they, well there are 7 in Weston and another 13 in Worle, 3 at Banwell, 10 in Clevedon, 15 spread through the Gordano Valley, 5 in the Yatton area and a further 13 scattered across North Somerset. What can we do to encourage them to come along to our meetings

Garage Dayz

Thanks to John and Neil and their band of helpers, our evening of live music was a success. The evening started off with the Mountain Jack Blues Band playing traditional blues, followed by Garage Dayz playing a variety of heavy rock.
The evening made £339.44 which was donated to the Freewheelers.
It is hoped to repeat this event next May or June.

Pet Food Run

Our annual pet food run will be on Saturday 6 May (subject to confirmation).
The Hollyhedge Sanctuary is having a fund raising campaign to help build new kennels so hopefully we can help out.
It is also a possibility we will have a party in the evening following the ride.

Regional AGM

Due to the uncertainty of where we will be the Regional AGM has been moved from our venue The Bell, too Bristol MAGs venue The Mayors Arms, to be held on the 29th January.
So go along and have your say in how your region is run, perhaps you would even like to join the committee?
