On Saturday May 20th we are holding a Classic & Vintage Bike Show at
Hewish village hall commencing at 2pm, with trophy’s for the
“Best Of” categories.
This will be followed in the evening at
7pm by a Fancy Dress Rock ’n Roll party, where there will be live
music and a Rock ’n Roll disco, and there will also be a Hog Roast and
a bar.
Admission to the party is a meagre £5, and all proceeds will
go to the Freewheelers, so dig out those old drain pipes, brothel creepers
and Brylcreem the ol’ mullet and have a great evening.
We have been invited along to a meeting of various interested bodies to
discuss the high accident rate of motorcyclist in the North Somerset area,
and to discuss ways forward.
The Troll will be attending this meeting and
will let you know what they have in mind for us!
It is good to see that our numbers at the regular Wednesday night
meetings are still good even tho’ the weather has not been exactly on
the warm side; a few hardy souls still ride their bikes despite the
weather.
Our new landlord certainly seems friendly enough and we seem to
have made a good impression, so hopefully we will not be looking for another
venue.
Well another biking season is almost upon us and we need to discuss what
we are going to do this year. As soon as I get the Biker Nite events list I
will pass this onto you, however we should look to doing a few things
ourselves, so does anyone have any sensible ideas?
It would also be nice
to see a bigger attendance from our group at the regional events, in April
there is the popular Duk Dik Rally 14 - 16th held by Glos MAG, we do our
BikeFest on August 5th and on August 19th Bristol MAG will be running the
Bristol Bike Show in & around St Nicholas Markets, for which they need a
lot of help from neighbouring MAG groups, and of coarse we will be holding
the second GWR rally
