Our last ride out was on a perfect summers evening, and was very well
attended, about twenty bikes and a trike meandered through the country side,
dodging the odd errant bale of hay, to the Hunters Lodge Inn on the top of
the Mendips, where we had a pleasant evening in the inn’s garden
before blasting back to The Bell.
The next evening ride out is on the
27th July and will start from the Gordano services at 7pm PROMPT, be sure to
have full tanks, as this will be one of our longer rides, heading up into
the wilds of Gloucestershire.
Bristol MAG are having a BBQ at the Mayors Arms on the 7th July and have cordially invited us, I gather the cost is based on what you eat, so gluttons bring plenty of cash.
Brian jokingly commented that the Hunters Lodge Inn would make a good venue for a small camping weekend, as they have a good selection of ales. Are any of you interested in an odd weekend such as this, rather than a full blown rally?
Well the BikeFest is now only a month away and we will need marshals to
help out on the day, so polish up the ol’ bike and come along as there
will be trophies for the best bikes, trikes and scooters.
And it will
give you a chance to talk to other bikers and the public about all things
motorcycle, as well as help raise funds for MAG and the Freewheelers. The
IAM and the Police Bike Safe people will be there to give advice.
Plans for the GWR rally grow apace, and we will now have a Hog Roast and hopefully two bands on the Saturday night. The rally patch design has now been finalised. We will need marshals for this event so please let us know if you are available, and don’t forget to get those flyers out there.
