Three bikes turned up at Cromwells for our first ride out of the year to visit North Somerset NABD at their venue The Watchfield Inn near Highbridge. A disappointing turn out despite the weather being dry if a little chilly, but we were made welcome by the members of NABD and an enjoyable evening ensued. Perhaps a second ride out to them will take place later in the year?
On the question of ride outs we still as yet have to draw up a list of dates for ride outs. Any one up for leading an evening or weekend ride, long or short?
Plans for this years BikeFest are progressing with the paperwork being submitted to the council for their approval, but we could do with some more stalls to attend so if anyone knows of a stall that would suit please let us know. Marshals will also be needed so please help out on the day.
September is beginning to loom on the events horizon and it will soon be time for us to go into high gear to get every thing done. Leads are being followed up on Bands and Real Ale, but again we need some more stalls. We also need someone with good knowledge on the Electrical front to advise us on what we need. So any Electricians out there? We also need a lot more marshals at this years event, so please come forward and put your name down to do a couple of hours or more.
We have had an invite to take part in their Van Taz Tik Bike Show, to be held at The Borough Arms on the 14th July. They will be having Live Music, camping and trophies. Please support.
Due to a generous anonymous donation the amount raised by this event has risen to a little over £2,800. Well done everyone who gave up his or her time to take part in this worthy cause.
