A Big thanks must go to the Virago Star Owners Club (VSOC), for boosting our numbers for this event to about 20 bikes. Why do MAG events not attract more MAG members? It was also good to see some new faces at this our first event of the year in aid of Holly Hedge and Terrandor animal sanctuaries. I wonder how many are going to go back to pick up new pet? A pile of animal food was handed over to Holly Hedge where we were shown round. And thanks go to our Hosts at The Bell Inn for the sandwiches they laid on, and also the Pet food they donated, which along with the cash donations where given to the Terrandor Sanctuary.
The 4th of May sees our first evening ride, which starts from Gordano Services meeting at 7pm sharp. The ride will be heading up into Gloucestershire to co-inside with a Cotswold Biker Meet.
We have been invited along to Worle Recreation Ground where Worle Cub Scouts are holding a Fund raising event, on the 14th May from 1-5pm, and we will be manning a stand along with the Freewheelers.
Well just a few days to go now! Have you grilled your candidate? What is their stance on Motorcycles, and their inclusion in the Transport Plans as a viable alternative?
Stone Mastic Asphalt has been used to resurface a section of the A370, between Hewish and Congresbury. This material has come in for a lot of criticism in the press over safety issues. So have any of you experienced problems where this material has been used? Do you think North Somerset Council should be using it, in light of the fact that it is banned in Ireland?
On the 13th April we held our AGM at The Bell Inn, at a reasonably attended meeting the business of the day was quickly carried through, with all officers being re-elected, with Bill Pugsley being elected Committee Chairman. It was also decided as the meetings at The Bell were now being well attended that we would drop the meetings at The Black Horse. It was agreed to hold the next AGM on Wednesday 8th March 2006 at 8:30pm.
Finally at last the new updated Clubs Packs are becoming available, for other
Motorcycle to affiliate themselves with MAG. So if you are a member of a club
or know a club that would like to affiliate let Brian our Clubs Liaison know,
and he will get a Clubs Pack out to them.
Brian would also like any contact details of local bike clubs.
